Terms of use
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using Francora, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the course. You must be 18 or older.
2. What Francora is
Francora is an online French course: lessons from beginner to B2, practice in reading, listening, writing and speaking, flashcards, mock exams in the format of the TCF Canada and TEF Canada, and an AI tutor (Claire) that corrects your answers.
3. No guaranteed results
Learning a language depends on your starting level, the time you put in and many other factors. We don't promise any exam score, NCLC level, CRS points or immigration outcome.
- Mock exams follow the published format of the real exams but don't contain real exam questions, which are confidential.
- Scores and NCLC estimates in the course are practice estimates, not official results.
4. AI-generated content
Much of the course content and every correction is produced with the help of artificial intelligence. We review and improve it, but it can contain mistakes. If something looks wrong, tell us at hello@francora.ca. Don't rely on the AI tutor for legal, immigration, medical or financial advice.
5. Your account
- Keep your email account secure: anyone who can open your email can sign in to your Francora account.
- Your subscription is for you alone. Don't share your account or resell access.
- During the private beta, access is by invitation and may change or end at any time.
6. Fair use
To keep the service fast and affordable for everyone, AI features (new exercises, corrections, chat and grading) have a daily limit per learner. Content that's already saved, such as lessons, saved exercises and flashcards, isn't limited. Please don't:
- try to get around the limits, copy the course content in bulk, or use automated tools to access the service;
- use the AI tutor for anything unrelated to learning French, or to produce harmful or illegal content;
- interfere with the service or other learners' accounts.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
7. Payments and cancellation
When paid plans open, prices and what each plan includes are shown before you pay.
- Monthly plan: renews each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in one click; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. We remind you by email before each renewal.
- 6-month and 12-month passes: paid once and never renew automatically.
- Taxes such as GST/HST are added where they apply.
8. Refunds
All purchases are final and we don't offer refunds, including for unused time on a plan or pass, except where a refund is required by the consumer protection laws that apply to you. This doesn't affect any rights you have under those laws. If you've been charged in error, contact us at hello@francora.ca and we'll fix it.
9. Our content
The course (lessons, exercises, audio, design, the Francora name and logo) belongs to Francora and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may use it for your own learning. You may not copy, publish, sell or share it outside the course without our written permission. What you write in the course stays yours; you allow us to process it to give you corrections and keep your progress.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep Francora available and accurate, but it is provided "as is", without guarantees of being uninterrupted or error-free. We may improve, change or remove features. If we make important changes to these terms, we'll tell you in advance.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Francora isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, including exam results, immigration decisions, lost opportunities or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that can't be limited under the law that applies to you.
12. Ending your account
You can stop using Francora and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend access if you break these terms.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
